The Darul-Ihsan Research & Education Centre (D.I.R.E.C.T.) of South Africa, an Ulama-managed organisation, is committed to rendering its humble but dedicated service to the cause of Islam and Muslims on a global level, particularly in the fields of:
       o research
       o education
       o publications and propagation

DIRECT was founded in Ramadhan 1420, January 2000 by Mufti Zubair Bayat of South Africa.

DIRECT is an independent, non-profit, non-political institute committed to the dissemination of Islam as understood and interpreted by the Muttaqi Ulama - Pious scholars of the people of Sunnah and Jama'ah

DIRECT believes that Muslims and the image of Islam is suffering due to the breakdown of the traditional and classical view of Islam among the vast majority of the Muslim Ummah. The Ummah needs to go back to Islam in its original form. As part of an effort to contribute to this process and for the upliftment of the Muslim Ummah, DIRECT was founded

DIRECT attempts to combine a purely academic approach with a practical one in an endeavour to present Islam as an important living factor in the lives of a billion plus Muslims worldwide, and capable of meeting the challenge of the modern times, and destined to inaugurate a new era of enlightenment, justice, progress and peace in the future of mankind. In this regard, every Muslim must identify an area of need to which he or she may contribute to help alleviate the present conditions and work towards Islamic renewal and selfless service to humanity

Part of the aims of DIRECT is to mobilise potential individuals and organisations by conscientising them towards the dynamic role they could play in the inauguration of a new golden era of enlightenment, justice, progress and peace on a global scale. The achievement of this goal requires immense foresight and careful planning and strategising

DIRECT would like to extend a word of gratitude to Br. Ibn-Abdus-Samad and Maulana Fahim Husain of Stanger for the major assistance they have rendered to the centre, particularly in the setting up of this website. Duas are requested for them and all other supporters and well-wishers of the Centre. May Allah bless and reward these brothers and sisters abundantly
